ABOUT THE ROLE:’
You are a highly experienced Data Governance Architect with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a strong command of building secure, scalable governance frameworks across structured and unstructured data. Yo can design and implement enterprise-grade governance solutions that balance regulatory compliance with usability. Your approach reflects the rigor of formal standards like GDPR and CCPA, while enabling trusted and auditable access to enterprise data. You thrive in cross-functional teams of data engineers, architects, analysts, and compliance leads, translating their needs into robust policies, lineage frameworks, and metadata systems.
CORE SKILLS
You will be able to work with PMs, SMEs, Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, and Compliance Teams to design, implement, and scale data governance frameworks across enterprise environments:
- You are skilled in designing data policies, metadata standards, and classification systems that enforce secure and compliant data usage.
- You have hands-on experience with GCP, especially Dataplex, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Data Catalog, and Dataflow.
- You understand access management and policy tagging using GCP IAM and Dataplex’s native features.
- You have experience driving data cataloging, data lineage, and discoverability across complex datasets.
- You are proficient with SQL, Python, and Terraform, using them to codify and automate governance practices.
- You support DataOps and MLOps adoption by integrating governance frameworks into CI/CD pipelines and ML workflows.
- You are capable of generating auditable documentation to support regulatory compliance and external audits.
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data governance, or data engineering roles.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with GCP, particularly Dataplex, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
- Deep understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in metadata management, data lineage, and data quality tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead governance conversations across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- GCP Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification.
- Experience in telecom, finance, or healthcare data domains.
- Familiarity with enterprise data governance tools like Collibra, Alation, or Informatica.
In addition to deep expertise in GCP-native governance, experience in the following areas will strengthen your fit:
- Developing secure data architectures that support multi-tenant, regulated, or high-risk data domains.
- Architecting governance for hybrid data lakes and data mesh environments.
- Leading data stewardship programs and mentoring data owners and custodians.
- Working knowledge of streaming data governance and real-time compliance monitoring.
